The Brooklyn Bridge on the Manhattan side taken from near the South Street Seaport beneath the FDR Drive elevated highway. The bridge is floodlit with myriad lights along the cables. Beyond can be seen the Manhattan Bridge. In 1981 South Street Seaport hadn't been developed and the area was abandoned and derelict.

I took this photo on an overnight photo expedition in August 1981. I stayed up through the night, walking the streets of New York taking photos. It was exciting and at times scary.
