View over Stockport and Manchester from Marple Ridge

The view looking north west from Marple Ridge over Stockport and the Manchester conurbation. There is a golden dusk sky above the hills which contrasts with the conurbation below which seems cast into shadow.

The steeple on the left is St Georges parish church Wellington Rd South, and the one near the centre, St Matthew's Edgeley. The white building is the one on Wellington Rd on the corner of Longshut Lane. The modern buildings to the right are part of Stockport College. The clock tower of St Thomas's church can just be seen on the right. it's difficult to make out any other landmarks, apart from the electricity pylons which roughly follow the path of the River Mersey.
