Moore Street is home to the famous market which has always been regarded as quintessentially Dublin. Nowadays, many of the shops along Moore Street cater for foreign residents, including a Russian shop and cafe (upper left) and Madina selling Middle Eastern goods. The building in the centre of the image is of historical significance as it was used by members of the 1916 uprising, but it has been threatened with demolition. Even in Dublin, a city which cherishes its past, the threat of destruction of heritage is ever present.
