The Central Bank of Ireland Building on Dame Street Dublin 2 is of unique design and appearance with its stark horizontal lines and floors suspended from metal trusses. During construction its roofline level had to be brought down as it contravened height restrictions. The Central Bank of Ireland was designed by Sam Stephenson.

One of Dublin's most unloved buildings, the best that can be said for it is that it's striking. From all angles it is visible above the 18th and 19th century rooftops of the central area to the south of the Liffey, including the busy nightlife district of Temple Bar.
