The Hacienda occupied the distinctive roundhouse building on the corner of Whitworth St West and Albion St. The former yach warehouse became a legend of music in the 1980's. It was finally closed down in 1997.

People used to say it was an unremarkable building, but for me it was very attractive, with its salmon-coloured brickwork, curved facade and rooftop balustrade. I was shocked when developers destroyed the building to make way for a truly unremarkable apartment development, which uses the Hacienda name. This photo now adorns many walls as a canvas and framed print.
