Barton Square campanile under construction Trafford Centre Manchester

A new campanile or tower has appeared next to the Trafford Centre in Trafford Park to the south west of Manchester.

View a visualisation of Barton Square on the Barton Square website.

The tower is part of the new Barton Square shopping centre which will be linked to the Trafford Centre via a glazed foobridge. This new structure continues the Trafford Centre's familiar theme of using traditional style architecture to echo far away locations, here, perhaps, Venice. Barton Square is another project conceived by Peel Holdings, owners of the Trafford Centre.
