Manchester's Piccadilly Plaza was completed in 1965 and remained the same until around 1999 when the right hand building, originally called Bernard House, was demolished and replaced by a new structure. Later the entire complex including the hotel and Sunley Tower, was acquired by Bruntwood Properties, who in 2005 are carring out a makeover of the building.
The majority of people in Manchester seem to hate Piccadilly Plaza but for personal reasons, I like it. In my opinion it should have been treated like Lincoln Cathedral and left as it was, a unique example of early post-war modern architecture in Manchester.
