The Blue Souqs (Arabic for 'markets') are situated next to the Lagoon and are built in a style that recalls the golden age of Arab-style architecture. Two long halls, with shops on two floors, are linked by a pedestrian bridge. On the rounded roofs, there are traditional style wind towers which once provided ventilation but now have only a decorative function. In the souqs you can buy a wide range of items - textiles, electronic goods, but above all gold and silver.

On the right of the panoramic photo we can see the Lagoon - a natural inlet from the Gulf. Over the years it has been strengthened and extended. On the other side of the channel is a funfair. In the distance you can see buildings under construction, evidence of the continuing economic development of Sharjah and the Emirates.

Die Blauen Souqs (Arabisch für 'Märkte') befinden sich neben der Lagune und sind in einem Stil gebaut, das an den goldenen Zeiten der arabischen Baukunst erinnert. Zwei lange Hallen mit zwei Stockwerken, sind mit einer Fußgängerbrücke verbunden. Auf runden Dächern sind Windtürme gebaut, die einst zur Lüftung dienten und jetzt nur eine dekorative Funktion haben.In den Souqs kann man eine breite Auswahl von Waren kaufen: Textilien, elektronische Geräte, aber am wichtigsten Gold und Silber, die hier billiger zu kaufen sind als anderswo.

Auf der rechten Seite des Panorama-Bildes erstreckt sich die Lagune, eine natürliche Bucht vom Golf. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde sie befestigt und erweitert. Auf der anderen Seite des Kanals ein Rummelplatz. In der Ferne sind Hochhäuser im Bau - Zeugnis der weiteren ökonomischen Entwicklung von Sharjah und der Emirate (Übersetzung von Isabella Turner)
