Looking from higher ground in Tranmere, near Birkenhead on the Wirral, towards the Liverpool Anglican cathedral on the Liverpool side of the Mersey. On the left is a crane belonging to the ship maintenance yard in Birkenhead. There are some amazing views from this area, but I can't help always thinking back to the heyday of Liverpool and shipbuilding on the Mersey, and wondering what it looked like then.
