Stockport Infirmary was opened in the early 19th century and served as a hospital up until recent years. Subsequently the building was refurbished by Bruntwood Estates and is now Millennium House, an office of the Pension Service.

The facade is Grade II listed and has been fully restored as part of the redevelopment of Millennium House. Here we see the portico in close up. It occupies a site on the A6 Wellington Rd South, which slopes down towards the River Mersey around half a mile to the north.
