View along Wellington Grove, off Wellington Road South, Stockport on the afternoon of Tuesday 3 November 2009 when there was heavy rain combined with a golden sunset.

I am fascinated with the shapes and textures of the urban landscape and am always amazed by the look of things during heavy rain and here a golden setting sun. The scene seems to take on a timeless quality, due the effect of the 'sepia' tone. The streets and houses in this part of Stockport date mainly from the late 19th century. In this light you feel transported back to an earlier age.
