Bramall Hall Stockport is pictured here during snowy weather prior to Christmas 2009. Bramall hall is a Tudor manor house, parts of which date from the 14th century. It is constructed on a hilltop overlooking Bramall Park. The front of the house faces east and has seven gables. It is built in the style known as 'half-timbered'. The timbers are painted black and the areas in between are coloured white. Bramall Hall is owned and maintained by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. Bramall Hall is located in Cheshire. Stockport MBC is one of the 10 councils of Greater Manchester.
Bramall Hall looks especially magnificent in snowy weather. It's very interesting to study all the details of the facade with its carvings, crooked angles and irregularly shaped windows and gables. Unlike the great houses of later centuries, this one is irregular and asymmetrical in form. This is because various sections were added at different times. I loved to visit Bramall Hall as a child and regularly visit Bramall Park today.
