The Burj Al Arab Hotel, opened in 2000, has quickly become Dubai's most famous symbol. The 321m (1053ft) high hotel was project managed by WS Atkins and Partners. The architect is Tom Wright.

Currently my favourite modern building in the world. We are looking from what used to be the public beach just to the south, now part of a new hotel complex. This image was used on the cover of the Geoprojects Map of the UAE.
